DJ Spooky Presents Soul Power "From Gospel to the Godfather"

"This Thursday, coming up, is a concert between DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist at McCarren Park Pool. They asked me to put together an after party, and I said sure. I'm in production on my Antarctica film project, and touring for my book, and it's one of the only shows I'm doing in NY for the next couple of months. But this show is a special treat of my next film project - it's a remix of the Stax Records archive. If you don't know Stax Records, I guess you can think of it as the Motown Records of the South. Soul, Funk, Power!!! The concert will be a video remix party with rare video material from Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Sam and Dave, and lots of crazy rare video material from the deep soul music archives of Stax Records. It's not to be missed!.  If you have some time, come out to the event! It's Free! There'll be lots of people from different scenes." – DJ Spooky

Psychedground presents this Earworm live (3D Vision Records, NYC)

EarWorm is the psy project of Max Meshiv, born in 1986. He was infected by the psychedelic trance virus at a young age in Israel...and now resides in NYC to infect others. Around 2002 he and his older brother Noam started to work on music together on a computer based music software...it was more of an experimental stage and development. What started as a hobby eventually took on a more serious path, which also brought in lots of magical and mysterious experiences along with it. That mixed with an explosion of inspiration and...BooM! the EarWorm project was born. The project in itself is aimed towards wizardly magical futuristic nighttime-twilight psychedelic frequencies....Tune in to the frequency of everywhere and now-here and get earwormed...soon on dancefloors near you.  and DJ Sets by:  WICHDOKTA (Phoenix Family, Geomagnetic - San Francisco); KEN (Dreamcatcher NYC); LUCINA (Dreamcatcher NYC); Deco by Dreamcatcher
