An interactive whiteboard (IWB) is a big interactive display connected to a projector and a computer. A computer desktop connected to the boards surface projects information through a projector which acts as the output device allowing the computer to be controlled by the use of a pen, a finger or any other device using the board's surface. These boards are typically mounted onto a wall or a on a floor stand and can be used in different settings at all levels of education and other areas in life such as corporate boardrooms, workgroups, professional sports coaching, broadcasting studios and many others.The sales figures from these IWB reached over $ 1billion worldwide by 2008, and as per the research carried out by the future source consulting. In most cases the interactive boards are supplied with software that provides tools and features distinctively designed to improve their use and maximize the interaction opportunities.
