Adam Jones, guitarist of the progressive metal band Tool, talks about using sacred geometry and metaphysics to communicate through art and music during their 2014 tour.
Tool’s music and lyrics engage deeply with metaphysical concepts. Their 2001 album Lateralus, whose album design features the work of Alex Grey (who has a close relationship with the band, and provided the artwork for their 2007 album, 10,000 Days), is an intense exploration of the human consciousness and our desire to tap into a deeper understanding of the world around, and within, us. The eponymous track “Lateralus” is built on the Fibonacci Sequence, both musically and lyrically. The video below provides a visual explanation of this along with the song.
