According to the following article by Dominique Sisley from Dazed Digital, people are going to the Standing Rock protest as if were Burning Man or a festival of some sort. The article reports that some are going there for the “cultural experience” and not contributing anything as if it were a Rainbow Gathering. I would just like to add that in the Rainbow Gathering world we call such people “drainbows.” Everyone going to a Rainbow Gathering is expected to work and contribute in any way that they can. If you are going to Standing Rock you are going to a protest, not a festival, and should not attend unless you have something to contribute and are willing to follow the lead of the organizers. Please read: People are Treating the DAPL Protest as if it were Burning Man.
