Shakti Sound is more than an educational immersion, it’s a Movement. This is just the Beginning of a Womxn Lead Evolution in the music industry.
Shakti Sound is creating something that has yet to be done. An all Womxn lead music production immersion offering the rich and diverse kind of content that focuses on so much more than just producing a track and its components. We are taking it to the next level.
We are ready to teach these valuable skills to women of all backgrounds who are ready to learn the technical aspects of the music world- production, recording, djing, mixing, theory, music business and all that comes with taking the necessary steps to master this work.
If you want to help us uplift womxn of color, low income and native background in exchange for some dope incentives, check our offerings here.

We symbolize sisterhood and feminine synergy and sisterhood in a way that many womxn have never experienced. We are women of many different ethnicities coming together to represent inclusivity and shared purpose. Accessibility and inclusivity are keystones of our vision. In order to increase women’s visibility in the music industry, it is crucial to include and make our offerings accessible to womxn of color, low income, native background and all cisgendered, non-binary, trans identifying womxn in our work. The last thing the music world needs is everyone to be the same. We are diverse and that is Beautiful.

While the passing of technical skill is the main focus, it is made whole by the pieces around women empowerment in the currently under represented, male centered music industry. We aim to guide the womxn that come through our program in showcasing their personal message in their music, never compromising their unique essence. Building confidence is essential for any artist to make it these days. There can be a lot of insecurity in doing something that hasn’t been done, getting experimental and staying true to yourself.

So we have created a collaborative curriculum in which all our mentors and teachers work personally with each woman to determine what she needs in order to do what she’s here to do.
Beyond the techy stuff we work with overcoming challenges women can face in the industry, making a business model and a sustainable career, share tools to stay productive and creative and coaching in owning the stage.
Weaving embodiment practices, songwriting, ceremony, women circles and sound healing.
Sure, Shakti Sound is empowering female leaders in music, but there’s more to it than that. Artists have a platform on which they can reach their audiences with any cause or action they may stand in solidarity with. It’s important to learn how to take advantage of these opportunities to use our voice to speak to our audiences about a local service project going on, a movement like Standing Rock – or as simple as bringing everyone into a shared moment of silence and prayer for a situation happening in the world. The possibilities of music and its reach are far beyond the sound.
Beyond our week long educational immersions, we have already begun the movement toward organizing a series of webinars, putting together pre and post one day events at festivals that teach these skills in our local areas and hosting completely female produced and featured showcases.
May we all find a way to support any effort to raise the voices of women up and find balance and equality in this world.
We see that if this movement continues to take hold in all of its forms, more women will have the confidence to enter into the industry, women will get booked more often at equal stature as male producers, women will experience no need to compete but enjoy the experience of being a part of something much bigger than themselves.
We are determined to create a strong network of diverse womxn in the music industry who will champion equal opportunity for bookings, promotional exposure, and compensation for female performers-because they’ve earned it!

Our first educational event is an upcoming 8-day music production immersion, May 20-28th, 2019 outside of Nevada City, California, it’s sold out and women are coming from across the globe to join in this sonic sisterhood. The next two are in California, October 2019 and then on right before Envision festival in Costa Rica Feb 2020.
