Celebrate with Kiana Love
This Month we celebrate the promise of spring and love .. We celebrate the goddess Brigid and the festival of the waxing light. As days begin to grow longer, and the sun begins to grow stronger spring draws near. We celebrate the mystery of the germination of the seed after the cold contractive forces of winter are withdrawn, and the youthful energies of the Maiden aspect of the Goddess inspire and illuminate all life, physical and spiritual. Thus the light begins to grow within us. Seeds we have planted within, now begin to germinate. As we take in this light, we take time to open to love, feeling love shining in, and seeing love shining out. Opening to receiving love, Opening to being love. Opening to the beloved to the goddess within. This Month Women’s Rites will be followed by a Be Wild Love Celebration A Date With Your Goddess Selfa playful journey to the beloved within, dance, create, dress-up, embody, have fun with your goddess self. Bring a fun, sexy costume or find one in the be wild wardrobe. Bring a snack to share.
**********For Women’s Rites Attendees Only***********
Calling all women to gather to reclaim the innate wisdom and power of the emerging feminine. Explore, heal, and restore as sacred, women’s bodies, lives and cycles, using ritual, sharing, journaling and more. Come together in a supportive circle to honour and weave women’s rites of passage from maiden, to mother, to crone. Each month we will have resources and “home rites” for you to deepen and personalize your experience.Facilitated by founder of Be Wild Woman, Kiana Love

GlobeSonic’s Feb monthly @ Drom w/Chicha Libre
GlobeSonic parties have become legendary in the breadth of music and ease of transition they make between country, culture and continent. They recently held residencies at East Village hotspot Nublu and SOB’s, and have been showcasing artists at the prestigious WOMEX world music conference. They have staged events around the world with like-minded DJs and musicians, and are represented by IMN World, North America’s top world music booking agency. The agency also represents the likes of Caetano Veloso, Youssou N’Dour, Baaba Maal, Ali Farka Toure, Gilberto Gil, Herbie Hancock, Marisa Monte, Norah Jones and Ladysmith Black Mazambo. They are the first DJs ever represented by this prestigious organization. CHICHA is the name of a corn-based liquor favored by the Incas in pre-colombian days. Chicha is also the name of a South American music craze which started out in the late 70’s in the Peruvian Amazon. Cumbias amazonicas, as they were first called, were loosely inspired by Colombian accordion-driven cumbias but soon incorporated the distinctive sounds of Andean melodies, some Cuban son, and the psychedelic sounds of surf guitars, farfisa organs and moog synthesizers. The group draws its personnel from barbes regulars Bebe Eiffel, One Ring Zero and Las Rubias del norte.

Dance of Liberation with Parashakti & Gatekeepers, Sandhi Ferreira
lead participants into the realms of Dance of Liberation (a Jivamukti Yoga class leading into a Yogic TranceDance.) Community dance rituals have historically been a vehicle for healing. Today, in the jungles of NYC, at Jivamukti Yoga school, the act of gathering each month for Dance of Liberation honors our ancestors and the collective visions for the future. It is always a mystery to explain what truly happens on the dance floor, Profound release, insights, visions, healings and feelings of connection to source are what people regularly experience during their journey through their liberated dance. The combination of carefully crafted & selected world music, by Globesonic, Dj Fabian Alsultany, setting of intentions, an invocation through Jivamukti yoga, breath, movement and stillness an energy field is created, the ritual space becomes more activated and can easily transport participants into ecstatic states, where you become your yogic dance. Bradford Keeney, Ph.D., a cultural anthropologist at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, CA, author of Bushman Shaman: Awakening the Spirit through Ecstatic Dance, states that “a healing context is one where you create a swirling of the life force, an amplification, a movement, a transmission, an energy field so that when another person steps into it, an awakening of their own inner healing sources is encouraged”. Dance of Liberation, invites you yo share your precious movement of expression through this communal ritual. As one of the dancers shared last month: “I felt like I was performing Earth acupuncture, My feet could not stop dancing to the beat of my heart and everyone elses presence, prayers and sharings”. Dance of Liberation is a container for the reclamation of our freedom, peace and unity, and to assist in the positive unfolding of our human evolution.
