Willy Christie, Kukini

Articles by: Willy Christie

Willy Christie is a Kansas-born, Los Angeles-based artist, ganjier, and chess player who blends creativity with an adventurous spirit. Raised by a deaf choir teacher and a legally blind tennis pro, he grew up with an innate understanding that limitations are illusions. As the mind behind Kukuni, his psychedelic, indie, and experimental art rock project, Willy channels myth, fable, and dreamlike symbolism into his work. His debut album took shape in a six-month period of creative solitude, a process that deepened his commitment to the transformative power of art. With the support of producer Tony Buchen and drummer Robby Sinclair, Kukuni’s sound evolved into an immersive experience, leading to a partnership with Liquid Culture Records in 2022. Beyond music, Willy thrives on the intersection of art, cannabis, and the human experience, always exploring new ways to push creative boundaries. Learn more at https://www.kukunimusic.com
