An Outbreak of Fear and Paranoia in the Psychedelic Mushroom Community

Some months ago, a chap called Jan Irvin put out a request for funds to help him pursue a project concerned with unveiling a sinister Elite/CIA/NWO conspiracy. Irvin is attempting nothing less than a total rewrite of psychedelic history. What got me involved were his insinuations about Gordon Wasson. I put my foot in it and all hell broke loose.
LSD as a Spiritual Aid

There is common consent that the evolution of mankind is paralleled
by the increase and expansion of consciousness. From the described
process of how consciousness originates and develops, it becomes evident
that its growth depends on its faculty of perception. Therefore every means of improving this faculty should be used.
Alex Grey and the Mind Parasites

I caution people about going to a rave with a sketchy vibe and taking a boundary-dissolving substance. Unless you want to
internalize a carnival of lost souls it is probably unwise to blow yourself
wide open in a setting of trance-inducing music/lighting …
“2012” and Electromagnetic Effects on Consciousness
Our research team found that brain waves could be altered and even controlled via electromagnetic waves, and that specific force field levels produce the same effects as psychoactive substances. That fluctuations in the
electromagnetic spectrum can radically change consciousness could explain what
will happen to humanity at the end of 2012.
Psychiatric Alchemy: An Interview with Oscar Janiger
Janiger is responsible for "turning on" many well-known literary figures and Hollywood celebrities in the late fifties and early sixties, when LSD was legal. The Cracking Tower
Essence is the immortal portion of our awareness. When we die, we disappear from this planet forever and our life experience is absorbed into our Essence. The ego absolutely must transcend the illusion that it is the center of the psyche. Psychedelics can b…
Post-Avatar-Depression-Syndrome (PADS)
Reports have appeared of people who see Avatar and fall into depression at their inability to access a world as beautiful and spiritual as Pandora, the mythical planet depicted in the film. But before you join a PADS support group, consider the lessons of LSD.
The Harvard Psychedelic Club
Leary assembled an
eclectic squadron of test pilots at his increasingly chaotic home. They
included Beat poet Allen Ginsberg; jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson;
William Burroughs, the legendary novelist; and Alan
Watts, the popular Buddhist writer and commentator.
