A. Blue Sun Mycology Group develops genetically modified hybrids of fungi that are specifically engineered to be used by strategic partners to create myco-based products such as textile material, building materials, or novel compounds which are naturally biosynthesized via the creation of novel hybrids and can then be mined, extracted and purified to create FDA approved medicines and other products.

Q. How do your products help the consumer / Reality Sandwich community?
A. Scientists have only been able to create compounds in labs for the last 300 years. Nature has perfected the method since the beginning of time. Using nature to biosynthesize novel compounds ensures that the entourage effect of the mushroom’s complex chemical composition is still fully in place within a newly developed novel mushroom. This may prove to have great beneficial value in creating FDA-approved purified extractions (using these novel mushrooms as the source of the novel compounds) if research ends up showing that naturally biosynthesized compounds are more beneficial than synthetically developed compounds.
These types of GMO mushrooms are meant specifically for medical and industrial purposes, not for food purposes. Blue Sun Mycology Group has no plans to develop GMO mushrooms for food. The industrial benefits of these types of hybrids have the potential to rival hemp and can help reduce waste.
Q. Where are your thoughts on the future of the psychedelic industry and emerging medicines?
A. Blue Sun Myco is grateful that psychedelic medicine is coming out of the shadows and into the light. But it would like to see more and more cities becoming decriminalized for home use and safe GMP production of these natural sources of psychedelic medicine to meet consumer needs. Blue Sun Myco is deeply rooted in the psychedelic community and understands the importance of using psychedelics in clinical settings (with FDA approved drugs) but it also believes that once users become experienced with the psychedelic realm that solo trips or having private trips with good friends in a safe set and setting are also important for self-healing. As people become more experienced with psychedelics and outgrow microdoses or controlled small doses they will need safe and affordable access to these natural sources of medicine. Blue Sun Mycology Group is not opposed to either recreational or FDA-approved use, although it is on the side of using natural compounds for healing when it comes to natural VS synthetic.

The challenge with these therapies is that they are limited to only a few legal jurisdictions globally and a couple of cities in the USA that have decriminalized psilocybin.

Dennis McKenna said this about the Light – “I met a remarkable man during my travels this summer; Guy Harriman, ex-Apple engineer, a close friend of Steve Jobs, and now a Zen monk in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where he continues to develop what he calls ‘spiritual technologies’. One of his inventions, the Ajna Light, which he claims stimulates the production of DMT in the pineal gland. I don’t know if it does, but I will say that after a few minutes under the light I was fully in the zone and that feeling persisted for as long as the session lasted.”
Q. Where are your thoughts on the future of the psychedelic industry and emerging medicines?
A. We discovered that this underground world of psychedelics was slowly coming above ground with the voices of Michael Pollen, Tim Ferris, Bia Labate, Carlos Plazo, Larry Norris and others.
Just today this was the headline in the paper:

In May 2019, Denver became the first U.S. city to decriminalize psilocybin and now we have 9 cities and one state with 140 new cities on their way. The future is now and the future is taking us back to our roots. The plants are coming alive.

DanceSafe

Unicorn Bags
UNICORN Bags, a company based out of Plano, Texas, specializes in mushroom cultivation. Starting in 1990, UNICORN bags were developed when US farmers were seeking efficient and affordable filtered bags. They are used in various biological applications, such as hospitals, plant tissue culture, and bio-insecticides. Commonly used mushrooms for cultivation are shiitake, maitake, Ganoderma, Pleurotus, and oyster.
Q. What’s your mission on the planet?
A. To bring mycology and mushroom farming to the masses
Q. How do your products help the consumer / Reality Sandwich community?
A. We made growing mushrooms in jars obsolete in 1990.
A single XL mushroom bag can hold the equivalent of 10 jars and costs less than 50 cents wholesale. How mush is your time worth?
Also available in oxo-biodegradable since 2002, these use an additive that binds to hydrocarbon chains at the molecular level, catalyzing with oxygen and ultraviolet radiation. As the surface oxidizes, it becomes a nutrient-rich surface for microbial colonization. This oxidation breaks the carbon chains into small enough pieces that soil biota recognizes it as food and it’s digested like any other carbon-based nutrient. It’s a bit more complex than that, but basically, it makes plastic rot and dissolve in sunlight over a period of 3-4yrs, practically eliminating plastic waste for less than 5 cents extra per unit.
“But Unicorn, what about all the plastic waste that’s already out there?”
Oysters are one of the hundreds of fungal species observed digesting plastic. At the end of the day, hydrocarbons are still carbon, it’s just a really weird shape that most microorganisms haven’t figured out how to eat yet. But mushrooms have been decomposing carbon for at least 90 million years, so they have no trouble eating our trash. Mycoremediation has been used since at least the 1980s to control oil runoff along roads and has been proven effective in reducing toxicity in soil, effectively generating new arable land.
Q. Where are your thoughts on the future of the psychedelic industry and emerging medicines?
A. As a mushroom person, my biggest concern is seeing a push away from whole medicine into isolates. Think marinol vs cannabis.
I’d like to see a focus on citizen science rather than commercialization. The easiest example would be a company that allows the use of scientific equipment in exchange for a 5% ownership of the genetics for a predetermined period of time. In a decentralized marketplace, this would allow any hippy with a pressure cooker to compete on even terrain with old money, driving competition while ensuring a healthy and transparent market

A. Growing mushrooms with jars is fine, so is farming with a horse and plow. But if you want to produce in bulk, you need a tractor. If you want to grow mushrooms in bulk, you need some Unicorns.

Heart First Book Series
Heart First, a memoir written by Michelle Millers, is about the exploration of life, psychedelics, travel, and spiritual awakenings. “Heroic Hearts Project (HHP) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects military veterans struggling with trauma to psychedelic therapy options including ayahuasca, psilocybin, ibogaine, and ketamine treatments in combination with professional coaching and integration. We provide these veterans, who have often exhausted all of the resources offered by the Department of Veteran Affairs and don’t know where to turn, with education about and access to these alternative healing modalities. Our mission is to restore hope and empower each veteran in his or her own healing process.”
Q. What are your goals?
A. HHP aims to contribute to the growing base of psychedelic research, to educate the public on the potential of psychedelics based on the outcomes of this research, and to advocate for policy changes enabling increased and more equitable access to psychedelic therapies.
Although our focus is helping the veteran community, the protocols and systems we are [developing] will eventually help many others who are struggling with trauma. The veteran voice has also been instrumental in changing policy on both state and federal initiatives.
Q. What do you think about psychedelics?
A. Psychedelics are truly changing the way we [view] and treat mental health. I’m excited for more paradigm shifts to happen in this and other industries as psychedelics force us to [challenge] current systems. I also look forward to the rich new cultures and traditions that are evolving around these powerful substances.

Empathic Health
Empathic Health is a community that revolves around helping individuals who are interested in support around psychedelic experiences. They help people on their path to self-growth through the use of psychedelics. As a community integration platform, they provide daily conversation and connections, digital events and in-person meetups, as well as support through their Empathic Project Challenge which will begin next year. Q. Who/what is Empathic Health?
A. A community for people interested in using psychedelics for self-growth. Empathic health has the ability to help so many, and I have endless gratitude for the opportunity to work with you all to build it.
It feels like just yesterday I was contemplating my first experience with psilocybin, and the pains of trying to find the information I needed to feel comfortable taking that step remain vivid in my mind. Plant medicine has helped me turn my life into one I am happy to be living every day (okay…most days), and I hope to pay that forward by creating a place where people feel comfortable deciding if these medicines can help them too.
It’s unlikely that one person will have all the answers you need. But here’s the cool thing about being part of a community – you’re likely always covered. The first person you meet might not have what you’re looking for, but their friend might have something helpful for you! Or maybe it’s that person’s friend that really connects with you and becomes an important part of your life. And then you’ve forgotten why you even joined the community and BOOM — that person’s friend has just the info you were looking for.
A passionate group of genuinely kind individuals learning and growing together, who are bringing in other genuinely kind individuals to join the learning and the growing? That is the community I want to be a part of. That is Empathic Health.

You don’t always have to work so hard to resolve whatever you are working through. Sometimes, you just gotta shift your biology! We’ll introduce you to a bunch of different practices and technologies to help shift your neural pathways and hormone secretions so you can feel better!
For those who use, or are interested in using, or are interested in being interested in using psychedelics as part of their self-growth journey, our global and referral-only community provides support from preparation to life-long integration so that you can find more fun, freedom, and connection in your life.
As humans, we are always seeking ways to shift our consciousness. Alcohol, yoga, making music…these all alter the firing of neurons and chemicals released in our brains. And while psychedelics still have a lot of stigma in many countries, the truth is, they likely have been a central tool for humans since the beginning of our species.
Decades of scientific research demonstrate what many indigenous communities have known for thousands of years – these tools really work..so long as you have the proper support. That’s why we are here. While in 2013 there were over 30 million psychedelic users in the U.S alone (which means there is likely way more now – we need more data!), oftentimes the focus is on the psychedelic experience alone. Experienced psychedelic users know that: The psychedelic experience is only as good as it informs your daily life and state of being beyond the experience itself.
And the support of a community of people who “get it” is essential in that process. Our community exists to help you navigate your life with the fresh perspectives you have gained from your psychedelic experiences, build deep relationships, collaborate professionally, bring your visions and ideas to reality, and heck, just have some fun!”
