July 4th weekend, join RS contributors Charles Eisenstein and Adam
Elenbaas on a journey into "The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Tell Us
Is Possible" at the picturesque Waterfall House in upstate New York. Together we will learn to open our hearts and create a new story.
During the weekend, we will examine and re-experience the
transformational journey of heart. How can we strengthen the connection between our heart, mind, and spirit? Participants will dive into these enigmas through daily
experiential workshops ranging from yoga and bodywork, storytelling,
dance and holistic nutrition, to free-time swimming at the 20-plus waterfalls at the retreat center,
or hiking in the forest.
Led by Charles Eisenstein (author of The Ascent of Humanity) and Adam Elenbaas (author of "Fishers of Men: The
Gospel of an Ayahuasca Vision Quest, forthcoming from Tarcher/Penguin) take part in three nights of immersive workshops, bodywork, yoga, musical performances, dancing, story-telling, and nourishing whole foods. The weekend culminates in an all-night 4th of July ritual and dance celebration led by reknowned Master Haitian Drummer Bonga Jean Baptiste (Salif Keita, Grace Jones, Boukman Eksperyans, Voudou Drums of Haiti).

About the Waterfall House
"Built in 1852, the New York Waterfall House's 50-acre retreat center overlooks the Western Catskills' beautiful Schoharie Valley, reputedly the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. With period antiques, a historic dance hall, wrap-around porches, a vintage German-style bar with an adjoining gaming room, the 7000 square foot Waterfall House is a historic marvel. Although the house is enchanting, for many the real draw is the breathtaking beauty of Panther Creek as it winds its way through the woods, finally plunging 100 feet at the Kenhuragara Waterfall and into the natural swimming pools below. Visitors often say, 'I never knew New York could be so beautiful'… or 'I feel like I have gone to Brazil for the day'… Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world."
TESTIMONIALS
The Waterfall House is a perfect country get away from the urban jungle. No matter what time of year, it is so grounding to be surrounded by such exquisite landscape. The house has such character, the chefs and their food are amazing, and there is a waterfall in your backyard, what more could you ask for? Every group that I have brought has just loved it…
Nikki Vilella – Kula Yoga
The Waterfall House has been my magic retreat spot for nine years. The old Victorian inn is totally unique, and the waterfall on the property is jaw-droppingly majestic. The retreats have been packed to overflowing with people who come not only for the yoga, but to experience the transformative beauty of the forest and the river… and the chefs are beyond the pale and have people's mouths watering before class even ends. The Waterfall House is perfect for people looking for a place to completely unwind without having to travel too far from their city lives.
Alison Novie – Kula Yoga, Bliss Yoga
After six years of leading retreats at the Waterfall House, I still cherish every moment I spend there. The surrounding nature is astoundingly beautiful and full of magical healing gifts. The illustrious house and loving staff create a personalized feel to all retreats. Whether delving into the challenges of Yoga Sadhana, dancing in the forest, writing my graduate thesis, or widening my extended family and social connections; the time I spend at the Waterfall House has always been joyous and transformative.
