MEXICO CITY, Mexico- The Psychedelic Science Summit takes place in Mexico City, Mexico, Nov 29 – 30th, 2024, at the ABB (Auditorio BlackBerry). Hosted by Qualia, the event is billed as the “first” psychedelic conference in Mexico, the international summit gathers prominent speakers from around the world in an effort to redefine psychedelics and address the global mental health crisis.
What to Expect at the Event
The summit kicks off at 9am on Friday the 29th, with a panel of speakers, punctuated by two prominent names in the psychedelic field. Jamie Wheal highlights the morning and early afternoon panels. Wheal is the founder of the Flow Genome Project, as well as an author, having written Stealing Fire and Recapture the Rapture. Wheal’s passion for psychedelic culture and his voice always bring unique insights to the evolving psychedelic zeitgeist.
Robin Carhart-Harris headlines the second half of the summit on Friday in the early evening. Harris is a British psychopharmacologist who founded and was Head of the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London. Currently, Harris is a Ralph Metzner Distinguished Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Harris has designed human brain imaging studies with LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, DMT and 5-MeO-DMT. He has also pioneered clinical trials of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for severe mental illnesses and has over 140 published papers to his credit.
The summit follows the same format on Saturday the 30th with a morning and early afternoon round of speakers, as well as late afternoon and early evening panelists. The summit peaks with a Cosmic Vision exhibition by Allyson and Alex Grey. Allyson and Alex Grey are well-renowned mystic, visionary artists beloved in the psychedelic community.
Alex developed the art for Tool’s album covers and now the couple runs a psychedelic art gallery cum museum, Entheon, in upstate New York. The summit concludes with a closing party and concert hosted by Qualia.
With over 30 international speakers, the event offers “two full days of an integral experience that will transport you into the true potential of human consciousness.” By investigating the depths of collective nature through the themes of science, mysticism, vibration, ancient wisdom and consciousness, The Psychedelic Science Summit aims to redefine health, life, love, and psychedelics.
The summit encourages the exploration of “the possible and plausible solutions we hold to shift a state of survival to truly living,” in light of the global, mental health crisis. According to Qualia, the “unprecedented” mental health crisis “may become the second leading cause of death worldwide” by 2025.
