Hello Reality Sandwich community.
We have a more personal message to share with you all here. Recently, we have been actively blackmailed by someone who calls himself “Spiritual Master Free Spirit”. At first, we attempted cordial communications to resolve his concerns. But he quickly turned aggressive and threatening, and we have ignored all attempts at communications for the past several months.
However, it has gotten to a point now where we want to have a public record of transparency and bring home a larger point in this matter. So, consider this your official “buyer beware” sign when dealing with self-proclaimed gurus and their “enlightened” extortion tactics.
Who is “Spiritual Master Free Spirit”?
So, this “Free Spirit” (who apparently legally changed his name – red flag number one, folks) came crawling out of his mountain retreat in Portugal, accusing Reality Sandwich of stealing his oh-so-valuable content, and then using it to sell “illegal” psychedelic mushrooms.
Let’s get a few things straight…
Back in the day, Reality Sandwich was a wild and wonderful open-source platform. Anyone could freely create a member profile on the site and use that to post articles, comment on other articles, etc. Unfortunately, this also opened the door to Chinese spam bots attacking the site through the same member portal and flooding the RS platform with spam. We have since obviously adjusted the parameters of the Reality Sandwich platform, and cleaned out all of the spam.
However, what this means is that anyone, including “Free Spirit” himself, could have published the article that he is flapping his gums about. So it could very well have been him, posting his stuff, on a free platform.
Now, fast forward to the present:
This “Spiritual Master” is acting like we raided his sacred texts and plastered them with ads for The Shroomz Store.
Let’s be clear: The Shroomz Store is a resource we shared with you, our community. We get emails and requests daily from the RS community asking where to get shrooms and for reliable sources. We know many people are going to buy shrooms one way or another, and we know there are tons of dangerous and sketchy products and options out there. That is why we work to vet potential vendors and when we come across someone who is a reliable source, we share with the community.
Note: The Shroomz Store was and is not lining our pockets. But our friend “Spiritual Master Free Spirit” over here saw dollar signs and decided to launch his bogus blackmail scheme.
And speaking of dollars…
Let’s talk about this “Spiritual Master’s” business model for a quick minute, because this is the larger lesson involved here…
This guy charges high fees for his “Life Coaching Intensives” and “Spiritual Mentoring.” Apparently, he had a vision (surprise, surprise) that his life’s work is worth a cool million pounds! (Snake oil alert!)
This sounds less like spiritual guidance and more like fleecing high-net-worth individuals with a load of cosmic crap. If you’ve got that kind of cash to burn, maybe invest in actual therapy instead of some dude who is blackmailing others for $500.
But the hypocrisy here is thicker than a Portuguese mountain fog. This very same “Spiritual Master Free Spirit” happily shares tales on his website of his Ayahuasca adventures and his deep dives into consciousness (presumably with the help of other “illegal substances” he now so piously condemns when we are supposedly involved).
Check out his own words below in his demand for us to remove his article – he brags about getting Ayahuasca criminalized across Europe! So, it’s okay for him to dabble in psychedelics and then try to ban them for everyone else, but it’s a moral outrage if our community is looking for responsible resources?
We tried to be decent humans.
Our amazing Holly reached out with an olive branch, offering to give him credit and link to his work. Note, this is the first email thread of correspondance:

After this last message is when his article was removed from the Reality Sandwich website.
Did he appreciate this?
Nope. He responded with demands for cash and legal threats. Here is the next thread immediately following the last email above, which is also the last messages that Reality Sandwich sent to “Spiritual Master Free Spirit”:

Again, we held true to what we said… that was the last message he received from Reality Sandwich.
However, he has continued to send aggressive, incoherent, entitled ranting emails that make you think something is wrong with the psyche, let alone from someone that is supposedly spreading any kind of genuine “spiritual” message.
And the cherry on top of this whole ridiculous sundae is the string of utterly unhinged emails he’s continued to send, filled with paranoid conspiracy theories and accusations that have absolutely nothing to do with Reality Sandwich.
Here are some examples of the 41+ email threads that we have received from “Spiritual Master Free Spirit” over the past several months:

Some of this is just outright illiterate:

More non-sense:

Here is where attacks start to get personal again, and downright unacceptable:

For some reason, he thinks we are somehow involved with some Aluna scandal that quite frankly we have no knowledge of and don’t have the energy to even read about it:

He keeps linking these wild and ludacrious comment threads about the Aluna situation. Note, we don’t recommend wasting energy reading these either, but linking here for posterity.
What a waste of his very valuable time, right?! Ha! He could have spent that time marketing to his millionaires… but we digress.
So, here’s the takeaway:
This isn’t the behavior of a “Spiritual Master”; it’s the desperate flailing of someone trying to run a scam.
Reality Sandwich community: always be skeptical, always do your own digging, and don’t fall for the self-aggrandizing claims of so-called spiritual gurus, especially those who try to bully and blackmail honest platforms.
This “Spiritual Master Free Spirit” is a prime example of someone peddling what sounds like a whole lot of bogus enlightenment with a hefty price tag and a nasty streak.
We’re sharing this not just to clear our name, but as a cautionary tale. The spiritual path should be about freedom and truth, not extortion and hypocrisy. We’re sticking to our values and our community, and we suggest you do the same when encountering characters like this.
Oh yeah… and if you are one of the people asking us daily where to find a reliable source for mushrooms, we still recommend you check out The Shroomz Store.
