The following is a transcript of a channeled lecture that took place in Toledo, Ohio on May 20, 2017. Read more transcribed channeled lectures by Paul Selig on Reality Sandwich here.
Now when we ask you questions about what you require, your first impulse is to go to the known. “I need a new car, a better relationship with God. I believe I need these things because I have assumed that as so.”
If you understand something different, that the True Self that you are knows what her needs are and will call them to you to be realized through, then you get to allow yourself to move into a higher level of receipt. The prescriptive self—“I need a bigger bathroom, I need a better car, a better spouse”—assumes these things because she has been conditioned to know herself through the landscape she lives in and measure her worth by the size of her bathroom or the make of her car or the quality of her spouse. You understand, yes?
Now when the True Self begins to claim, she claims in different ways. She doesn’t align to prescription, but she aligns to possibility. “What will create the opportunity for my next learning? What will give me joy? What will show me a higher way?” The Divine Self that you are is not bound by prescription, so what she will claim will not be what you think she should. What she will claim is what she requires to realize herself through.
Now this is a joyful thing. Paul is in the background saying, “Oh, this sounds terrible. I want a vacation. They’re going to give me cancer so I can learn through the experience. I want a better partner. They will give me the one who will teach me to stand up for myself.” Whatever it may be that the small self would assume would be inferior to the truth that would come when the Divine claims what she requires.
Now the Divine Self does not authorize pain. You must understand this. There are things that you’ve agreed to while in form that have incurred what you would call karma, and there are lessons to be learned through these things, yes. But when we teach you, we are actually moving beyond that, beyond that law to a higher law of realization. And realization and knowing mean the same thing.
Now the quality of what you claim as the True Self will always be in accord with the requirements of the soul. The Divine Self as you seeks realization through you, so the idea of you being harmed by a claim of the Divine Self makes no sense at all. Why would you continue on a path that you would perceive of as harmful? This is a lesson, in some ways, in reception and moving beyond demands into an allowance, with the understanding that the True Self claims for you at the cost of the known.
Now what is a claim but a thing spoken and decided upon. “I will have the eggs.” “I will marry the woman.” “I will choose the better career.” These are intentions made in the form of claims. And the claims we make on your behalf to attune you to the vibration we work as are always present when they are called. These are claims made in a higher octave, and the higher octave we sing in broadcasts to your plane the requirements of ascension, and we use that word carefully because it is often misused.
The requirements of ascension are several. The body itself must be re-known in the higher octave to hold the amplitude of vibration that would be as it. The consciousness needs to be re-formed to the level of agreement where she realizes what she is, which means the Divine in form. And the consciousness you hold must be re-formed to negate the identity that would demand that all things claimed in fear will be made known again and again and again in perpetuity.
The release of the small self is really an assumption of the small self and the attitudes that the small self holds, the demands that she makes, the ways she’s decided she should be. The claim “I am here, I am here, I am here,” which is the True Self in purview, announces the dominion of the Divine Self. This is not a small claim. The claim “I am here” announces the True Self as the dominant aspect of the self that will call a life to her in the higher accord. The small self’s claim “I am here” tends to be “I am here for what I want or what I assume I should have in order to stay safe and be bound by the rules I have grown up by.” The Divine as what you are bears no resemblance to that aspect of the self, and his claim, her claim “I am here” is the call forth of the True Self who begins to claim the world in accord with who she is.
In order for this to happen, the opportunities must be brought to you as the Divine Self claims them to manifest this, the True Self in form and field. We spoke of unmasking yesterday in some ways, of the paint chipping from the wall to expose what was underneath, but in fact what we are doing with you is lifting the entire house to the higher octave and rebuilding the house frame by frame as it is required for the True Self to know itself in accord with truth in all ways.
The resemblance of the old that you will see out the windows of this house will be what you have known as can be perceived in a higher octave. Everything exists in a higher octave that you perceive on this plane. So the Divine Self who witnesses the world through the window of the True Self and her purview sees the true world. She doesn’t decide what things are based on what she was taught. She knows what she is, so she knows what she sees.
Now when we decide with you that the claim “I am here” will support you in this purview, we are doing so for several reasons. We are claiming the truth for you because we already know who you are in the higher octave, but also so that you may know the words and claim your purview. We announce you: “You are here.” You announce yourself: “I am here.” And then you go into accord with the level of vibration that the True Self requires to claim her dominion.
What does the True Self claim? What he or she requires to realize herself through, and that would include, we have to say, the encounters with the small self that will teach her who she is not that she has ascribed such power to. The death, in some ways, of the small self is the replenishment of the True Self.
Imagine a water that has become polluted. As the new spring begins to fill the old pond, eventually all that was old will be cleansed. And the process of cleansing or re-knowing may involve your understanding of why you claimed what you did once upon a time but that is actually less essential than you have been taught. What you have decided, in some ways, is you must understand yourselves to be re-created. “I need to know why I hate my mother, why I can’t succeed in my jobs. I keep looking at my history to understand who I have become.” And while this is an interesting exercise and can be very valuable, it can also be an opportunity to reinforce the things you say you don’t want. “You see? I always get this way.” And you reference the history that says you do and you replicate it again and again and again.
The True Self doesn’t do this. So what she will do instead is give you the higher option so you don’t have to go to the old. She will call to you what you require to realize yourselves through. The Divine as you knows what you need before you ask it. Do you understand this? And allowance, in some ways, giving permission to the True Self to do its job in accord with your soul’s needs, will bring to you what you require to learn through without your having to decide that you need this or that in order to be who you think you should be.
Now what we do when we work with you is train you, in some ways, to decide for yourselves when things are presented that you do not have to go back to the old ways to reinforce your history because, as you understand, the Divine Self that you are does not hold the history that the small self does. She was not wounded when she was ten years old, she isn’t angry at her husband, she doesn’t abide by the rules of law. She exists beyond that.
You can also understand that the Divine Self as you can be realized through these things in the moment you stand in, in the relationships you have, in abidance by law—or by breaking it. The Divine as you is present now, not somewhere over a rainbow on the other side. And many of you believe that you have to climb the damned rainbow hand over hand to get to that place which can only be where you are.
When we teach you about sovereignty and the issuance of the individual, we are teaching you that you have sovereignty and also the ability to choose. But we will say, when you work with the claim “I am here, I am here, I am here,” you are allocating your will to the higher octave because it is the True Self in its purview who can then claim. The small self wants the sandwich, the True Self wants the fish. She knows what she needs. She knows what her body needs as well. And the acquiescence to it, beyond impulse to alignment, can support you in all ways in your life. Your first intention is usually to do what you have always done. “Give me the sandwich.” The second impulse is to do what you think you should do. “I should have the salad.” The True Self says, “Give me the fish. I know what I need.” And if you can go beyond those two you can find balance in all of your areas of imbalance.
Now imbalance, in some ways, is an illustration of what is not right in consciousness, so it can be perceived of as an opportunity. When you understand there’s imbalance, you must also understand that there was a need for it from some aspect of you to claim a relationship or a health issue in a way that you would choose differently now. But your agreement to what you have, which doesn’t mean it’s your fault, but your agreement to what you see gives you the opportunity to understand the self in a different way.
So Paul is interrupting. “Not so fast. I want to know how this works. So I created something that I wish I hadn’t. I understand I had a need for it, perhaps, in some way, whether it’s my fault or not. But what do I do to rebalance if this is in my consciousness? That is where the balancing has to happen, yes?”
No. This is the first thing you need to understand. You are taking this on as if the small self is going to know how to do this, and if he could have known that he would have remedied it a long time ago. This is true for all of you. So the idea of fixing it must be abandoned first and foremost. Re-solving it might be a better way to look at it.
Now when you look at the body and the body’s needs, or the requirements for the health of the body, you have certain things you understand would be of benefit to the body and you may attend to those things in a practical way. But it does not solve the consciousness that has the investment in the imbalance. That can only be addressed in a higher way.
Understanding why you do what you do will give you understanding. Knowing why you drink may help you understand that you drink, but it won’t help you to stop it. Do you understand that? You don’t stop drinking by force of will, but by aligning the self to the aspect of the self that doesn’t require it to know itself to stop replicating the history.
Any addictive behavior can be looked at as a physical issue or a spiritual. In fact, the two are coinciding because they exist concurrently. But to remedy the physical without the spiritual guarantees the return because the consciousness that created the addiction or seeks to learn through it will continue to when she can.
How do you transform beyond a system of control or a way of behaving that is harmful to the self? We will ask you, all of you here who hear these words, to ask yourself and let the higher self respond: What is one thing that you seek to transform in your life that can be described as harmful to you or out of balance? Make the request silently, please, and see the answer that you receive.
Now what is needed to do this is the second question, and ask yourself what you receive. Now when we teach you about the requirements for transformation, you want to be handed a toolkit and you want to attack it with your set of tools. We will tell you what we said to Paul when he asked and received an answer. He was told: prayer and love. Now why would he be told that to resolve an issue?
When you work with prayer, you work with allowance. And the action of prayer need not be a demand, nor need it be affirmative to be applicable to transformation. But the consciousness that you have can be re-formed through prayer. But prayer is misunderstood. Prayer is an alignment to the higher octave through request, and we will say why. There is a difference between saying, “Give me the milk” and “May I have the milk?” The aspect of you that doesn’t know that he is allowed the milk may not take the milk once it is offered because he doesn’t agree to it in energy. Do you understand this?
So demanding health or balance when you have re-created imbalance so often feels impossible. But asking for it, which means reaching and receiving, gives you permission to move beyond the data and the ways you’ve known yourself in history that may have created the thing to begin with. When we teach you how to be, we don’t make you different than you are. But we do move you to a higher agreement that may be known by you, both in form and field.
Now he is dissatisfied with the answer we gave him. “Prayer and love, what does that mean? I can pray on anything, but it may not change anything. What if I am supposed to have the imbalance? What if it’s there for me to learn through?”
Well, it is there for you to learn through, and for all of you to learn through. Anything you can see before you holds within it the opportunity for learning. But we said love, as well, and this is where you misunderstand the teaching. The agreement to love, to be taught in loving ways, to allow the self to even love the imbalance as opposed to pushing it aside, allows the imbalance itself acceptance, and things will not change until they are accepted for what they are. Do you understand this, yes?
You can pretend that the marriage is happy, keep working on the marriage, but until you understand where there is lack in the marriage, or what you have been in denial of, you can’t move to transform it. So prayer, we would suggest, will support you in reception, and love to the allowance of it.
Now we are having to contend with Paul again. He is having a tantrum in the back of the room. “But I want something to do.”
You don’t think that is an action? Prayer is the most powerful action a consciousness can contend with. It asks and receives. It does not demand. Now we will claim affirmative prayer with you, and every claim we have given you—“I know who I am, I know what I am, I know how I serve”—is a prayer in affirmation that has been encoded in language to bring about a certain effect. But the requirement for this encoding has been made and we are claiming what you are when we say these words.
When you ask—“May I know?”—you invite the answer. When you demand—“I have to know”—you are affirming that you don’t. When you claim “I know,” you are aligning to the aspect of the self who already knows, and that is affirmative prayer. “May I know?” is a request that may come from the soul to support the self in realizing knowing. The claim “I know” affirms that you do know because in the higher way you do. The demand “I want to know, I have to know, make me know” is an order. And what you do then is decide for yourself that somebody is supposed to give you something on your timetable.
Imagine you had a date with a man and the first date wasn’t very good. You decided you wouldn’t see him again, but you agree to the second date because maybe you were wrong. You go out on a third or fourth date. He spills the drink on you, he chokes on the food. You look at this man and you say, “Why would I want to spend my life with him?” But on the fifth date you go, “Oh, my God, I know who he is. I see him for who he is.” Had you known who he was as your life partner on that first date, in likelihood you would have destroyed the opportunity to get to know him. You would have run in the other direction because he does not resemble what you think he should.
So the idea that you learn as you can learn, and that there may be a perfect moment for your illumination, must be understood. In the higher mind all is known and is available. But if your soul is in charge of circumstance in the claim “I am here,” you must also assume that you will receive in divine order prayer and love.
We will continue with this and call this the title of this teaching, Alignment to Prayer, allowing the True Self work with you in prayer. “Thank you for teaching me to pray in the highest way I may, thank you for giving me the language to claim my identity in receipt of my new potential, thank you for teaching me that all is possible in prayer” will align you, and the power of your prayer will be in amplification to this. And the framing of the prayer in love, which means you are not praying in fear or in the assumption that your prayer will not be heard, will support you in the reception of it.
Paul is interrupting again. “Is this different than the mudra of creation?” Yes and no. The mudra of creation, which we can teach you, is always the claim of the True Self in consciousness. But the small self claims as well. So when you claim in the higher way, from the understanding of “I know who I am, I know what I am, I know how I serve,” the intent to receive is present because why would you not? In an imbalance, where there has been an investment in something that was created unconsciously and is serving to hinder your presence and evolution, the way we may work with you may be indirectly or directly. And the teaching of prayer is the teaching of creation, but in a higher way than you may yet assume.
We will take a pause in a moment for Paul, but we have a few words to say to you all about what may be known by you in the higher ways through prayer. Supplicatory prayer, which is a request, has value. Affirmative prayer, which is the claim of truth of what is already present, has great power. But the one who receives must be made ready to receive it. You want the perfect partner, but you are not in a position to receive that. You want better employment, but you assume employment looks like a certain thing, and what may be offered to you to learn through might be quite different. So your prayer for better employment may not be met because it’s not what you require. You may realize yourself as worthy of a better way of living that may not require employment. So don’t short circuit what the Divine Self might call and bring to you because you assume that you know what that should be. Period. Period. Period.
